Branford police confiscated eight kilograms of narcotics, a combined mixture of Fentanyl and Tramadol, both opioids and valued on the street market at $2 million, after stopping a car with very heavily tinted windows Wednesday.They arrested Carlos Albert Hernandez-Salazar, 27, of Canton, Ohio, after Officer Josef Herten stopped the car because of the windows. Man carrying 8 kilograms of narcotics in car with kids in backseat arrested

BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Branford Police found eight kilograms of narcotics after pulling a man over for a motor vehicle violation. Officers pulled over Carlos Hernandez-Salazar of Canton, Ohio for having heavily tinted windows on his vehicle. During the stop, officers noticed Hernandez-Salazar was acting unusually nervous. Torrington Little League wins District 6 softball title

Torrington’s Little League Softball All-Stars defeated East Granby/Granby’s combined Majors team 3-2 to win the District 6 championship at Dyer Field in Canton Wednesday. Torrington won with a walk-off run in the 6th inning. Torrington finished 7-0 in District 6 tournament play and advances to the Little League Softball Section 2 tournament against Bristol and a team to be determined July 6-9. Local School for Autism Celebrates 1st Graduation

Proud parents, faculty and fellow students celebrated the achievements of the first group of students to graduate from the 8th grade at the Fresh Start School in Canton. The June 21st ceremony was held at the Canton Community Baptist Church followed by a reception at the school. Students from ten towns across the state attend the school for its innovative approach to helping children with autism learn. The Fresh Start School is a state approved special education program for children ages 11-18 founded by FOCUS Center for Autism in 2016. Read More …

The highway deaths included one on I-84 in Bethel, two on Route 44 in upstate Canton and the latest on I-395 in Norwich. The accidents follow another crash in that killed two people off Route 8 in Waterbury on Friday.
