Remedial reading for teachers

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield University has been given the green light to start recruiting for a new master’s degree program in remedial reading and language arts. “It means we will have a broader applicant pool for our fellowship program and will help us recruit more diverse candidates,” said Jule McCombes-Tolis, director of Fairfield’s Reading and Language Development program. Police identify man’s body found near Sunnyside Boat Ramp in Shelton

SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Shelton Police have identified the man’s body who was found near the Sunnyside Boat Ramp on Wednesday afternoon. According to police, at approximately 2:00 p.m., they received multiple 911 calls reporting a male in the water who appeared to be distressed by the ramp. EASTON, Conn. (WTNH)  – A Fairfield man has been arrested on charges related to violating a protective order after repeatedly making harassing phone calls to his ex-girlfriend’s daughter. Easton Police have charged 47-year-old Mark Steinfeld with criminal violation of a protective order, harassment in the second degree, and disorderly conduct.
