STRATFORD — The Stratford Brakettes improved their win streak to 17 games with a pair of victories over the Lyons (Pa.) Spirit Saturday night at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field. Stratford Police are investigating a fatal car crash at Sikorsky Airport

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Stratford Police are investigating a fatal car accident that happened Saturday morning at the Sikorsky Airport. According to police, there was a fatal accident at the airport’s parking lot. They say police are still on scene with a reconstruction team investigating the accident. Stratford police among many to crack down on distracted driving

When police units conducted enforcement, the department said it observed a 17 percent drop in mobile phone usage by drivers. “The drop in observed use of mobile phones demonstrated the need to reinforce to motorists that using a mobile phone while driving is both dangerous and illegal,” Capt. Frank Eannotti said in a prepared statement. Stratford man charged with running heroin factory

STRATFORD -A local man, who just completed his probation for selling drugs, was arrested after police said he was found packaging and selling heroin. Milford man, woman arrested after police chase in stolen car

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Two people was arrested after leading Milford Police on a chase while in a stolen car Wednesday afternoon. Police say at around 2:24 p.m., officers noticed a 2002 Honda Accord, later learned to be stolen, driving erratically south on North Street onto Boston Post Road. When officers attempted to stop the car on Boston Post Road, the driver continued onto I-95 south at a high rate of speed. Stratford: VNA breaks ground on new office

VNA officials and board members, accompanied by about 20 officials from Town Hall and local politicians, staged a ceremonial groundbreaking Wednesday morning at 3060 Main St., an empty office building just south of the Post Office. Alleged child rapist arrested

Robert Toussaint, 61, was charged with second-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and risk of injury to a child. PD: Bridgeport man arrested for assaulting Stratford officer

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– A Bridgeport man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer in Stratford on Wednesday. Police say 40-year-old Karel Bynes was arrested after he was identified as a suspect in a possible assault. When Bynes was approached by officers, police say he began to fight and a brief struggle ensued. The officer suffered minor injuries as result of the assault. Stratford Police: Stolen gun recovered after sexual assault

STRATFORD—Police arrested at least one person Wednesday morning after an alleged sexual assault and the recovery of a stolen weapon, according to a statement from the Stratford Police Department. An ambulance was sent to the scene, according to dispatch reports from Stratford first responders. Beaches in Stratford to be closed Wednesday due to elevated bacteria levels

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Beaches in Stratford will be closed to swimmers on Wednesday after reports that there were elevated bacteria levels in the water. Officials say the beaches will be retested on Wednesday and will reopen depending on what the results from the lab say on Thursday morning. Officials did not say if the beaches would reopen on Thursday or Friday if the bacteria levels are back to normal after the tests.
